A Lifestyle Charting System for Goaltenders

Nutrition:

Charting meals and snacks consumed, including the macronutrient breakdown (protein, carbohydrates, and fats) and any supplements taken. Develop your daily healthy approach from an Athletic Point of View.

Mental Preparation:

Charting the goaltender’s morning routine, including visualization techniques, journaling, or other mental preparation activities. Throughout your daily activities it takes but a moment to reaffirm your goals and desires.

Physical Training:

Charting all physical activities outside of on-ice training, including strength and conditioning, cardio, and other training such as yoga or Pilates. Develop a routine that focuses on your strengths and weaknesses.

Game Day Preparation: 

Charting the goaltender’s routine leading up to the game, including warm-up routines, mental preparation, and specific pre-game rituals. Your formula to success starts here.

In-Game Performance:

Charting the goaltender’s performance during the game, including saves, goals allowed, and other key statistics. Additionally, charting decision-making, communication with teammates and coaches, and overall mental and physical state during the game. This process will identify the positive patterns and negative patterns to adjust and work on.

A key component to your steady growth.

Post-Game Routine:

Charting the goaltender’s routine after the game, including recovery activities, nutrition, and other post-game rituals. This routine will establish the reflection needed to grow in confirm your good habits and clearly point out the deficiencies in your routine.

Goal Setting: Charting specific goals for each category and progress towards achieving those goals is paramount to going forward and not in circles. See your goals, feel your desire, accomplish and create your destiny.

It’s important to note that the charting system should be customized to the individual goaltender and consider any specific needs or concerns. Additionally, it should be regularly reviewed and updated with feedback from parents or support people chosen to participate.
